In fields such as long-distance photoelectric observation, mobile inspection, and professional live streaming, the industry has long faced a persistent challenge: the disconnect between imaging hardware performance and network transmission as well as remote control capabilities. A standalone telephoto lens module alone can only capture images but lacks the ability to perform encoding and compression, distribute signals across multiple channels, or remotely schedule tasks across different protocols. As a result, high-definition images from distant scenes are prone to issues such as transmission loss, control latency, and limited terminal compatibility. To address these challenges, Kemorei has moved beyond the traditional single-hardware-product mindset and introduced a comprehensive solution featuring the CM204UE encoding control board paired with the CM8236 ultra-long-zoom lens module. At the heart of this integrated system is the CM204UE’s powerful encoding and processing capability, which seamlessly connects image acquisition, signal compression, remote command execution, and multi-channel video output throughout the entire workflow. This approach fully unlocks the potential of the CM8236’s ultra-long zoom and low-light imaging hardware.

I. Encoding Computing Foundation: The CM204UE supports end-to-end signal processing and device scheduling.

The operational upper limit of the entire visualization system is determined by the encoding control unit. As the computational core of the entire solution, the CM204UE is fully responsible for video encoding, multi-protocol parsing, multi-channel video distribution, and remote operation and maintenance of the entire device. It serves as the central bridge connecting the CM8236 imaging module, local large-screen displays, and the cloud-based management platform, fundamentally addressing the shortcomings of traditional split-device systems—such as signal fragmentation, cumbersome compatibility issues, and poor bandwidth adaptation. The hardware is equipped with a dual-channel, high-efficiency H.264/H.265 encoding engine and supports the MJPEG encoding format. It features a built-in intelligent three-stream scheduling mechanism that automatically adjusts image quality and bitrates based on network bandwidth. The device supports independent customization of video parameters for both HDMI and IP network streams, and when paired with a USB 3.0 expansion port, it enables simultaneous, non-interfering output of three distinct streams: local 4K large-screen monitoring, IP network remote streaming, and mobile device forensic recording. The device boasts an extensive array of control interfaces, providing comprehensive coverage through dual RS485 ports, TTL signals, and RJ45 network ports. It natively supports VISCA, Pelco D/P, and ONVIF2.4 protocols and is fully compliant with the national standard GB28181. Moreover, it features seamless interoperability at the protocol level with the CM8236 imaging module’s VISCA communication protocol, allowing the device to recognize the imaging module immediately upon power-up without the need for additional protocol conversion equipment, thus significantly simplifying project integration and cabling. The device’s network protocol matrix covers common transmission standards such as RTMP, RTSP, SIP, DHCP, NTP, and FTP, enabling online live streaming, cloud-based video storage, and IP-based remote firmware upgrades. It comes with built-in customizable OSD and logo overlay functions, meeting the standardized visual identification requirements of broadcasting and government projects. With dimensions of only 50x50mm and a low power consumption of 12W, the device operates stably within a wide temperature range from -10℃ to 50℃, powered by DC12V 1A. Its compact size makes it ideal for embedding in vehicle-mounted pan-tilt units, portable devices, and fixed server rooms, providing a lossless and stable encoding foundation for the CM8236’s long-focus, high-definition video streams.

II. Long-distance imaging terminal: CM8236 outputs high-dynamic-range, native HD image footage.

The CM8236 ultra-long-zoom lens module, serving as the front-end acquisition terminal for the entire solution, is responsible for capturing fine details of distant real-world scenes in outdoor and mobile environments. It delivers lossless, native video signals to the CM204UE encoding unit. The software and hardware of these two components are deeply integrated at the underlying level, enabling synchronized adjustment of parameters such as zoom, exposure, and white balance, thus achieving seamless, coordinated operation between imaging and encoding. The lens module is equipped with a 1/1.9-inch Sony CMOS progressive-scan sensor featuring 2.3 million effective pixels and delivering native 1080P high-definition video output. It boasts a 36x optical zoom plus a 12x digital zoom, providing an overall magnification capability of up to 432x. With a variable focal length ranging from 6.0mm to 216mm, the field of view can be freely switched from a wide-angle 61.2° to a telephoto 2° perspective, ensuring precise framing for both broad-area inspections and detailed observations at long distances. The module also excels in low-light conditions, with exceptional performance even under the lowest daylight illumination levels. 0.15Lux, 0.01 Lux at night—after enabling DSS digital slow shutter mode, low-light capture performance is further enhanced. Paired with multi-level noise reduction, WDR wide dynamic range, strong light suppression, and automatic day-and-night black-and-white switching, the camera delivers clean, noise-free images with no overexposed areas, even in backlit, twilight, or completely dark nighttime conditions. The focus mode supports multiple levels: automatic, one-touch, and manual. Shutter speed, aperture, gain, and brightness parameters can be finely adjusted. The device features a built-in multi-language interface supporting Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish, and Russian. Communication baud rates cover the full range from 2400 to 115,200.

III. Collaborative Operating Logic: The coding core drives the mechanism to unleash the full hardware performance.

The core logic of the solution is driven by the CM204UE’s encoding and control capabilities, establishing a closed-loop system that encompasses “image acquisition—encoding and compression—multi-device output—remote control,” thereby thoroughly addressing pain points such as lagging remote operation when using the telephoto lens module alone, single-output channels, and difficulties in platform integration. This approach maximizes the advantages of the CM8236 zoom and imaging capabilities. First, the encoding board centrally assumes full control authority over the lens module. Leveraging the VISCA Over IP network control protocol, remote platforms can send commands via the CM204UE to the CM8236 for adjusting zoom level, focus, and image parameters. The encoding board features built-in adaptive zoom and fine, slow-speed control, complemented by the lens module’s multi-level electronic zoom, enabling smooth, jitter-free image magnification even at long distances. All image parameters can be remotely adjusted online without requiring on-site equipment adjustments, significantly reducing operational and maintenance costs for multi-location inspection projects. Second, the dual-independent output architecture caters to diverse business needs. After the CM8236 captures the image, it undergoes encoding processing by the CM204UE. The HDMI 4K local output directly connects to switchers and in-vehicle displays for real-time monitoring; an IP-network H.265 low-bitrate video stream is pushed to the cloud command center. Additionally, the USB3.0 expansion port allows local storage of evidence videos. These three output channels operate in parallel without competing for bandwidth.

IV. Multi-industry Implementation: The code-driven integrated solution covers all professional video conferencing scenarios.

Leveraging the core advantages of the CM204UE encoding hub and paired with the CM8236 ultra-long-zoom lens module, this complete equipment suite covers four key application scenarios: in-vehicle law enforcement inspections, field ecological monitoring, broadcast transmission for small- to medium-sized radio and television events, and remote video conferencing for large-scale government and enterprise venues. In the in-vehicle law enforcement inspection scenario, the compact, low-power system is designed to work seamlessly with DC12V vehicle power supplies. The CM8236 long-focus lens captures distant road violations and fine on-site details, while the CM204UE simultaneously records evidence locally and transmits live feeds to the command center via network. Its wide-temperature design ensures reliable performance in both winter and summer outdoor driving conditions. For forest fire prevention, river monitoring, and power line inspection applications, the lens module delivers all-weather imaging even under extremely low-light conditions. The encoding board integrates with emergency dispatch platforms via the national standard GB28181, supports remote IP upgrades, and eliminates the need for on-site maintenance at widely dispersed field locations. In broadcast and outdoor event coverage scenarios, the 432x zoom lens captures distant details of stages and competition arenas. The CM204UE provides dual outputs—HDMI large-screen monitoring and network-based live streaming—while its H.265 high-efficiency encoding significantly conserves bandwidth. Customizable OSD logos and subtitles comply with broadcasting standards. In government and enterprise lecture halls and remote conferencing scenarios, the ultra-long-zoom lens ensures full-room coverage, and the encoding board supports multi-protocol connectivity with video-conferencing terminals, enabling high-definition, real-time cross-regional collaboration.
