In scenarios such as forest fire prevention, offshore wind farm inspections, vehicle-mounted mobile surveillance, perimeter security in mining areas, and monitoring of high-altitude operations, long-distance security equipment often faces multiple challenges: unclear identification of distant targets, shaky images caused by bumpy environments, degraded image quality when light conditions shift between day and night, high failure rates in harsh outdoor environments, and difficulties integrating with various systems. The Kemore CM8437EM integrated zoom lens module, with its mature optical design, reliable industrial-grade hardware, embedded AI-powered intelligent analysis, and diverse output interfaces, provides an all-in-one visual acquisition core that delivers robust hardware support for specialized long-distance outdoor surveillance applications.

I. Precision optical configuration ensures both near and far-range imaging, enabling ultra-clear capture in all weather conditions.

Equipped with a robust optical system, the CM8437EM boasts a 6.5–240mm focal-length lens featuring 37x optical zoom, complemented by 16x digital zoom. This combination enables wide-angle surveillance of distant scenes as well as high-magnification close-up identification of targets. The zoom transition can be completed in as little as 4 seconds. With an F1.5 large-aperture lens and a 1/1.8-inch large-format CMOS sensor, the camera significantly enhances its light-sensitivity in low-light conditions. In color mode, it achieves an ultra-low illumination sensitivity of 0.0001 lux, while in monochrome mode, it can even capture details at as low as 0.00005 lux. As a result, rich color details are preserved even in twilight forests or nighttime construction sites.

The camera module is equipped with an ICR infrared filter and supports multiple operating modes, including light-sensitive, timed, external trigger, and automatic switching, making it well-suited for adapting to changing day-and-night environments. It features built-in image-processing algorithms for electronic defogging, thermal wave suppression, wide dynamic range, and strong-light suppression, effectively handling challenging conditions such as fog, backlighting, and reflections from water surfaces. According to the DORI detection standard, it can detect targets at a maximum distance of 3,422 meters and accurately identify human and vehicle details at a distance of 342 meters, perfectly meeting the requirements of long-distance monitoring applications such as wildfire patrols in forested areas and remote perimeter surveillance of open-pit mining sites.

II. Industrial-grade reliability, ensuring continuous and stable operation in challenging outdoor environments.

Outdoor gimbals and vehicle-mounted pods are exposed to environments with frequent vibrations and large temperature fluctuations, placing stringent demands on movement mechanism stability. The CM8437EM is equipped with enhanced gyroscopic electronic image stabilization technology, which effectively counteracts image drift caused by bumps and shakes, thereby preventing target loss due to image jitter. It also features a built-in temperature-compensated focusing mechanism that ensures sharp, clear images without any blurring or focus shifts across a temperature range of -30℃ to 60℃.

The mechanism features a highly durable stepper motor with a zoom lifespan of up to 1 million cycles—far exceeding that of conventional motors—making it ideal for surveillance locations requiring continuous cruising and frequent zooming. The entire unit weighs only 620g and measures 138×66×77mm, boasting a compact and lightweight design that makes it easy to integrate into small and medium-sized dome cameras, vehicle-mounted gimbals, and optoelectronic pods. The operating temperature range has been expanded to -40℃ to 70℃, and the device can operate stably in environments with humidity levels between 20% and 80%, significantly reducing condensation-related failures. It also exhibits excellent power consumption control: static power consumption is 4.5W, while maximum power consumption reaches 5.5W, allowing for effortless deployment in outdoor solar-powered scenarios and helping to lower project power supply installation costs.

III. Empowered by embedded AI computing power, shifting from passive video recording to proactive alerting.

Traditional surveillance only enables video recording, making it difficult to meet modern needs.Meeting the demand for proactive security and prevention. The CM8437EM features a built-in deep-learning AI intelligent algorithm and comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of smart analytics functions. It supports area intrusion detection and tripwire detection, paired with intelligent tracking: once a target enters the alert zone, the camera automatically zooms in and continuously tracks the target. It can also identify abnormal behaviors such as loitering by individuals, abandoned objects, moving items, illegal parking of vehicles, and gatherings of crowds, thereby meeting the routine security needs of industrial parks and border perimeters.

The core advantage of this device lies in its native support for intelligent recognition of people, vehicles, and fireworks, making it a crucial tool for forest fire prevention and fire monitoring in industrial parks. It can promptly detect smoke and open flames, immediately sending out alarm notifications to help prevent major fire hazards. Additionally, the device features advanced equipment anomaly detection capabilities: screen obstructions, network disconnections, storage failures, and IP address conflicts are all automatically reported, simplifying subsequent operations and maintenance tasks. The device also includes a reserved dual-spectrum expansion interface for a single IP address, allowing external connection of temperature-measuring thermal imaging devices to build a visible-light + infrared dual-spectrum surveillance system, enabling synchronized day-and-night monitoring and early warning of heat sources.

IV. Multi-channel video output, with open protocols for easy integration with various platforms.

To accommodate diverse integration projects, the CM8437EM innovatively adopts a dual-output solution featuring both MIPI and network interfaces. The MIPI interface boasts low latency and high bandwidth, supporting high-definition image transmission at 4MP@60fps, making it ideal for airborne and vehicular embedded terminals. The network port is 10/100M adaptive, capable of outputting up to 4MP video at 60fps, and utilizes H.265 encoding technology to conserve bandwidth and storage space. It supports simultaneous triple-stream output, seamlessly meeting the demands of real-time preview, local storage, and remote access.

The product boasts comprehensive protocol compatibility, with gimbal control supporting VISCA and PELCO protocols. At the software level, it is compatible with GB28181, ONVIF, and HTTP CGI, and provides an open SDK development interface, enabling rapid integration with government platforms and various third-party industry management systems, thereby significantly reducing the workload of secondary development. The network features are fully equipped, supporting IPv4/IPv6, local MicroSD storage, NAS/FTP storage, hierarchical permission management, and IP access filtering, making it compliant with cybersecurity standards for government and enterprise projects. Additionally, it comes with built-in support for OSD character overlay, ROI-based enhancement of key areas, image flipping, and two-way voice intercom, making it ready-to-use out-of-the-box for applications in forestry, port security, energy, vehicular, and border surveillance scenarios.

Whether it’s fire prevention patrols in vast forest areas, remote monitoring of offshore wind farms, tower crane surveillance at construction sites, mobile vehicle-mounted evidence collection, or perimeter security in mining regions, the Kemore CM8437EM integrated zoom lens module—with its ultra-high-definition optical imaging, robust industrial durability, embedded AI-based early warning capabilities, and high compatibility and integration features—fills the gap in long-distance specialized surveillance hardware. Its lightweight, integrated design reduces the complexity of equipment modification and integration, providing a high-performance core solution for all-day, long-distance visual monitoring across various industries and sectors, thereby building an intelligent, reliable, and sustainably operational, comprehensive security sensing network.
