As digitalization advances in scenarios such as smart maritime operations, transmission line inspection, forest protection, and high-altitude surveillance, long-distance monitoring projects are imposing higher demands on imaging equipment. Challenges including complex outdoor lighting conditions, distant target recognition, limited installation space for devices, and carrier vibration interference have long hindered the effectiveness of monitoring systems. Leveraging years of expertise in optical imaging technology, Kaimorui has developed the CM8255 integrated ultra-long zoom camera module, which combines Sony's Starlight-grade image sensor, high-performance optical lenses, and proprietary image processing algorithms to create a domestically developed visual core capable of operating under all weather conditions, enabling long-distance monitoring, and facilitating easy integrationproviding reliable hardware support for various specialized video monitoring applications.

I. A 55x comprehensive zoom optical system enables seamless switching between close-up and distant scenes.

The fundamental challenge in long-distance monitoring lies in balancing extensive coverage with detailed remote identification a critical industry bottleneck addressed by the CM8255 optical system. The camera features a 40x pure optical zoom lens complemented by up to 32x digital zoom, delivering a total magnification of 55x with a focal length range of 4.25mm234mm. Its wide-angle mode offers an expansive field of view (69.30° diagonal), enabling comprehensive inspections of river channels, forest areas, and industrial zones; while the telephoto mode narrows the field of view to 1.48° for clear identification of ship markers, power line faults, and forest fog targets from distances exceeding several kilometers. The aperture adjusts dynamically from F1.6 to F4.95 to adapt to both bright and low-light conditions. Equipped with multi-mode focusing capabilities including auto-focus, one-touch focus, and manual focus across a 0.1m10m range, the system ensures rapid and precise focus on targets at varying distances. With 07 zoom speed settings and five preset modes, it seamlessly switches between patrol and emergency response scenarios. In applications such as waterway surveillance, high-altitude security monitoring, and railway inspection, a single unit covers vast monitoring areas, reduces camera deployment needs, and significantly lowers project construction and operational costs.

II. Starlight-grade imaging hardware combined with a composite noise reduction algorithm delivers all-weather high-definition evidence capture

Outdoor monitoring systems must operate under challenging conditions including alternating day-night lighting, dense fog, and surface reflections. Under low-light nighttime conditions, image noise becomes severe, directly impacting target recognition and video evidence acquisition capabilities. The CM8255 features a 1/2.8-inch Sony STARVIS IMX335 CMOS sensor with 2.12 million effective pixels, delivering 1080P high-definition video output. Its built-in ICR automatic night mode filter maintains true color reproduction during daylight while automatically switching to black-and-white night vision mode in low-light environments. Color mode achieves a minimum illumination of 0.02 lux, black-and-white mode drops to 0.002 lux, and with digital slow shutter activation, the night vision threshold further decreases to 0.0002 lux, ensuring stable imaging even in unlit wild rivers or remote mining areas. Equipped with 2D+3D composite noise reduction technology, 2D noise suppression eliminates static interference while 3D noise reduction mitigates motion blur caused by water flow or vegetation movement. The adjustable noise reduction level (015 grades) balances image clarity with detail preservation. The device integrates automatic de-fogging, wide dynamic range, bright light suppression, and backlight compensation functions, effectively handling backlit sea surfaces and mountainous fog environments. Widely applicable for maritime round-the-clock surveillance, border security operations, and industrial facility protection, it delivers consistent video quality and recording files compliant with industry-specific regulatory standards.

III. Enhanced with DIS digital image stabilization and intelligent features, designed for complex imaging conditions

Numerous long-distance monitoring devices are installed on ship-mounted pan-tilt units, vehicle-mounted pods, and elevated mounting structures. Wind and wave disturbances or vehicle vibrations can easily cause image shaking, leading to loss of critical targets. The CM8255 model comes standard with DIS digital image stabilization technology that uses algorithms to instantly correct image displacement, reducing vibration-induced blurring, eliminating the need for additional shock-absorbing components, and simplifying overall structural design. The device features advanced intelligent capabilities: 1) Four-zone motion detection that triggers immediate alarm signals upon abnormal movement, ideal for unattended substations and perimeter security systems; 2) An 8-point privacy shielding function that masks sensitive areas within coverage zones in compliance with security privacy regulations; 3) OSD character overlay support for customizing device identifiers, zoom ratios, and monitoring point names, enabling unified management across multiple platforms; 4) Tools including image freezing, video defect detection, and customizable image parameters, balancing real-time observation with post-event analysis. Its interfaces and protocols demonstrate high compatibility with mainstream pan-tilt protocols (VISCA, PELCO-D, PELCO-P) and support multi-device networking. Additionally, it offers dual outputs (LVDS HD digital and CVBS analog), ensuring seamless integration whether for new installations or upgrades of existing surveillance systems while minimizing implementation complexity.

IV. Lightweight and compact design, tailored for integrated development across multiple scenarios

Integrated devices such as photovoltaic pods, compact dome cameras, and vehicle-mounted payloads often face space constraints during installation. The CM8255 integrated unit measures 54×64×101 mm in dimensions with a weight of just 355 g, featuring a compact and lightweight design that accommodates various confined installation spaces while reducing the cost of casing and mounting bracket development. Its electrical design is optimized for field deployment, supporting 915 V DC power supply with a maximum power consumption of 540 mA under 12 V standard conditions, making it suitable for solar-powered applications. Operating within a temperature range of 10°C to +50°C and storage range of 20°C to +60°C, it maintains stable performance under environmental humidity levels from 0% to 90% without condensation, effectively adapting to diverse outdoor environments including coastal salt spray, high-temperature/humidity conditions in southern regions, and low temperatures in northern areas. The lens includes periodic automatic calibration functionality with options for 110-day maintenance cycles or one-touch calibration, significantly minimizing issues like focus blur and optical axis deviation during extended operation and substantially reducing on-site maintenance frequency.
