Applicable scenario: When opening the camera or surveillance webpage in Edge browser (Internet Explorer mode) and clicking "Take Photo" or "Record Video," you can't find the resulting files on drives C, E, or F—and no error message is displayed.
Why is this the case?
The photo and video recording plugin in the web page belongs to the "Internet Security Zone," which is the zone where...Protection ModeIt’s enabled. Protection mode will restrict plugins to...Low privilegeRun, low-privilege programsNo permission to write files to the hard disk.—So the file wasn’t saved at all, and the system didn’t even remind you.
Solution (change 1 digit)

Open the Registry Editor
Press the keyboardWin key + R key, pop up the "Run" window and enterregeditPress Enter.

Find the location of the settings.
In the Registry EditorLeftOpen this series of folders in order:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER → SOFTWARE → Microsoft → Windows → CurrentVersion → Internet Settings → Zones → 3
(The last one mentioned3It's the Internet zone.

Change 2500 to 3.
Find the entry named 2500 on the right, double-click it, change the "Value data" from 0 to 3, click "OK," and then close the Registry Editor.

Completely restart Edge and then test again.
Turn offAllOpen the Edge window (open Task Manager and confirm that no remnants of msedge.exe are left), reopen the webpage, and click on Take Photo/Video—then the file will be saved.
✔ After completion, the photo/video will be saved normally to the path you’ve set, such as F:\New Folder (2).
I want to change it back (for safety's sake).
Don't browse the web; use only the intranet.When using the camera, it is recommended to change this number back.0(Restore protection mode—more secure.
⚠ Note: Set it back to 0 to restore protection mode (the plugin will revert to low privileges, and file saving will become ineffective). Set it to 3 to disable protection mode (you’ll be able to save files, but there’s a slightly higher risk when browsing dangerous websites). It’s safest to set it back to 0 once you’re done taking photos or videos.
